  • Q: Can I schedule or host instant meetings of three or more people if I don't have an Amazon Chime Pro subscription?

    No. To schedule or host instant meetings, you need to have an Amazon Chime Pro subscription. Amazon Chime Basic and Plus plans allow you to attend and fully participate in meetings scheduled or initiated by a user with an Amazon Chime Pro subscription, including sharing your screen and using Remote Desktop Control.

  • Q: Can I attend meetings of 3 or more people if I have an Amazon Chime Basic or Plus subscription?

    Yes, you can attend and participate in meetings if you have an Amazon Chime Basic or Plus plan. Meetings call you, you can dial in, you can share your screen and use Remote Desktop Control, and you can use the visual roster. To schedule and initiate instant meetings, you need an Amazon Chime Pro subscription.

  • Q: Can I do person-to-person voice (VoIP) and video calls if have the Amazon Chime Basic plan?

    Yes. You can initiate person-to-person voice and video calls from the contact list or from a chat in the Amazon Chime App. Person-to-person calls do not allow callers to connect via the public telephone network. The Amazon Chime Basic plan does not allow you to share your screen or use Remote Desktop Control. To use these features, the initiator of the call needs to have an Amazon Chime Plus or Pro subscription.

  • Q: Can I share my screen and use Remote Desktop Control when doing person-to-person voice (VoIP) or video calls?

    Yes, so long as the initiator of the call has an Amazon Chime Plus or Pro subscription.

  • Q: What's the difference between a voice (VoIP) or video call and a meeting?

    Voice (VoIP) or video calls take place between 2 people. Calls are initiated from the contact list, or directly from a chat, and they can't be scheduled. Person-to-person calls do not allow callers to connect via the public telephone network. Any Amazon Chime plan allows you to start or join a call.

    Meetings can have between 2 and 100 participants, and they can be scheduled or initiated instantly. Meetings call participants, or they can join using traditional dial-in numbers. Meetings use the visual roster to provide better meeting control for participants. Anyone in the meeting can share their screen and use Remote Desktop Control.

  • Q: Can I have users on the Amazon Chime Basic plan in my Amazon Chime team or enterprise account?

    No. All users in your account must have an Amazon Chime Plus or Pro (including trial) subscription. When you add a user to your account, they will be assigned an Amazon Chime Plus subscription by default, which you can upgrade at any time. When you invite a new user to join Amazon Chime, they are assigned a Pro trial subscription.
